Do I need the TAP WiFi Dongle to use the TAP Kiln Control Mobile app with my controller?

The original TAP Kiln Controller requires the WiFi Dongle to connect to a wireless network. All other TAP Controller have integrated WiFi.

As of 2025, every TAP Kiln Controllers has integrated WiFi and do not require a separately purchased WiFi dongle to connect to a wireless network.

This includes TAP II, TAP II Pro, TAP Micro, TAP Monitor, and TAP&Go.

The original TAP Kiln Controller – now discontinued – requires a separately purchased TP-Link TL-WN823n WiFi dongle to connect to WiFi.
