If it’s determined my controller needs repair, what are the next steps?

If your controller needs repairs, you will have to fill out a Repair Authorization Form and remove your controller from your kiln to send it in for repairs.

Once it’s determined your controller needs repairs, we will have you complete a Repair Authorization Form and send you a return label.

To remove the controller to send in for repairs, turn off power to the kiln/control box, then remove the four outer screws from the controller faceplate. This will free the controller from the control box. On the back of the controller, grasp each of the red fiction lock connectors that have wires going into them, one at a time, and wiggle them off the controller. Find the thermocouple wires entering a green block, depress the orange tab with a screwdriver, and tug the wires out.

The controller will now be free of the control box and can be returned. Please make sure to securely package your controller for shipping, including adequate padding. Once you have shipped your controller, you will receive a shipping tracking number and we will contact you once we have received your controller and keep you fully informed about the repair process.
